Fresh kitchen air, certified – the aira® plasma filters by AVITANA

A recirculation filter must do two things: remove odours reliably and be completely safe. That is why AVITANA's aira® plasma filters are tested and continuously monitored by independent institutes. Here are the results at a glance – and the certificates to download.

VDE – electrical safety

The RONDO, QUADRO and PLANO plasma filters carry the VDE mark. The VDE testing and certification institute in Offenbach monitors production continuously and re-certifies every year (no. 40049392). According to the manufacturer, they are currently the only plasma filters on the market with this certification.

INP Greifswald – ozone-free at the air outlet

The Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (INP) in Greifswald confirms: the air leaving the aira® filter is ozone-free. Inside the filter, ozone is produced on purpose – it is the trigger that breaks down odour molecules. The activated-carbon stage removes it before the air flows back into the kitchen.

IUTA – the plasma works, the air stays clean

How it was tested: the independent IUTA institute in Duisburg ran the aira® RONDO 500 for 90 minutes in a 30 m³ test chamber – once without and once with the activated-carbon stage (certificate UN2-180716-T5599900-079). Result: without activated carbon 879 ppb ozone, with activated carbon only 4 ppb.

The first value shows the plasma works at full power and oxidises odour molecules. The second shows the activated carbon then removes 99.5 % of the ozone formed – practically none reaches the kitchen.

Tip: for any plasma filter, ask for measurements with and without activated carbon. Only both values together show whether the plasma really works and whether the air is clean afterwards.

Olfasense – up to 96.5 % less odour

The Olfasense odour laboratory in Kiel tested the aira® RONDO to DIN EN 13725: 95.0 % less fish odour and 96.5 % less frying odour (report 1296-2020-00K). Olfasense is monitored by DAkkS.

How it works

Economical: max. 10 W, max. 0.5 W on standby, max. 3.65 kWh per year. Recirculated air stays in the room – no heated or cooled air is lost.

For kitchen planners: aira® filters are available in Carat, Winner Flex and KPS.MAX.
